The Genshin Impact 4.8 livestream aired on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 5:05 PDT / 8:05 EDT / 13:05 BST on both the official Genshin Impact Twitch channel and YouTube. The release date for version 4.8 is set for Wednesday, July 17, 2024. As usual, the game will undergo maintenance starting Tuesday, July 16, at 15:00 PDT / 18:00 EDT / 23:00 BST, lasting approximately five hours. During this downtime, players will receive a minimum of 300 Primogems as compensation.

New Area: Simulanka

The 4.8 update introduces a brand new summer-themed region called Simulanka. This limited-time area offers a whimsical, toy-themed world teeming with adventures. Players will encounter adorable origami animals and unravel the mystery of giant footprints left by an unknown creature. Alongside familiar characters like Navia, Kirara, and Wanderer, you’ll help revitalize the forest and assist the cute critters in need.

  • Encounter Points System: Excess encounter points from daily activities can now be stored and converted to daily points by spending original resin. These points reset only in updates ending with .0.
  • World Boss Cooldown: Reduced to ten seconds, allowing for faster farming of boss materials.
  • Story and Domain Improvements: A one-click ‘hide UI’ feature enhances immersion, and a new option allows players to review dialogue text and audio. Additionally, domain adjustments in Mondstadt and Liyue make the game more accessible, with lowered difficulty for the ‘License to Glide’ quest and the option to lower your world level at level three.
